A 20-Year Journey to Starting

Hi world!
This website has been a long time coming—at least 20 years in the making.

For years, I was stuck in analysis paralysis. Always waiting for the perfect time to begin. I thought if I just got it all “right,” then I’d be ready. But that perfectionism cost me time—time I could have spent growing, sharing, and helping others.

Still, I’m here now. And that matters.

Why I Created This Space

My hope is that this website becomes a space for healing, for growth, and for change. Because I believe—deeply—that healing begins with personal responsibility.

Not in the sense that we have to do everything alone. But in the sense that real transformation doesn’t happen until we take ownership of what we can control—and release the rest.

It doesn’t take hours to shift your life.
It only takes minutes—done with intention.

What Life Has Taught Me

I’ve faced a lot:
Family addiction. Chronic illness. The weight of watching someone you love suffer and not being able to save them.

My sister’s addiction was one of the hardest things I’ve ever lived through. I shouted into silence, trying to make others see what I saw. In the process, I lost so much of myself. Years I’ll never get back.

Now, I’m watching my daughter walk a similar path. And as painful as it is, I’ve come to accept:
I can’t change her journey. She has to choose it.

That’s the lesson that cracked me open.
And it’s the reason I believe so strongly that healing begins with personal responsibility.

Turning Inward to Heal

My health has also been a long road. I chased answers outside of myself—experts, tests, treatments—hoping someone would fix me. But I’ve learned: the most meaningful healing work happens inside.

Support is important. Connection is vital.
But no one can walk your path for you.

You Are Not Alone

If you’ve been through pain…
If you’re facing it now…
You’re not alone.

This is a space for real stories. Real struggle. Real healing.
And your voice matters here.

Because someone out there might need your story to take their first step.

About Me

I’m Jen Dlugosz—wife, mother, survivor, and storyteller. After years of navigating chronic illness, perfectionism, and family addiction, I’ve learned that the first step to healing isn’t waiting for things to change—it’s choosing to begin, right where you are.

And if you’re ready to start, I’m here to walk beside you.
